The first Canary Islands Sea Salon has opened in Tenerife.
The first Canary Islands Sea Salon named after Iñaki Domínguez, dedicated to the development of the "blue economy" and the involvement of the maritime industry, has opened in Tenerife.
The first Canary Islands Marine Salon opened today, April 19, in Tenerife. The event was dedicated to the memory of Iñaki Domínguez, the former head of the local exhibition center.
The opening was attended by Vice President of the Cabildo, Lope Afonso, Industry Councilor Manuel Fernández, President of Asnáutica, Carmen Fernández Ibars, and other government officials.
Lope Afonso emphasized that holding such a salon is a great opportunity for Tenerife, as the island is once again turning its face to the sea.
He also added that the salon should be the beginning of a "blue economy" development strategy that will help to rationally use marine resources and make the island economically diverse.
Manuel Fernández explained that the salon was named after Iñaki Domínguez to honor his many years of work as head of the exhibition center and to recognize his dedication, prudence, and loyalty.
Carmen Fernández Ibars, for her part, emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Cabildo and the maritime industry for the implementation of this project, which immediately received positive feedback.
The first "Iñaki Domínguez" Marine Salon will last from April 19 to April 21. On Friday and Saturday, it will be open from 10:00 to 20:00, and on Sunday from 10:00 to 15:00.
50 companies will present their stands in the large hall of the exhibition center. Conferences on various marine topics will also be held.
