Tenerife will allocate additional funds to the ISOS project, which helps educated women find employment through internships and support, contributing to a reduction in unemployment on the island.

Tenerife plans to allocate funds to the ISOS project, which helps women find jobs. This project enables unemployed women with education to complete internships in companies to gain experience and find employment more easily.

Rosa Dávila, the head of the Cabildo (local council), says that they are actively working to ensure that people have jobs. When she came to power, unemployment in Tenerife was higher than the average for the Canary Islands – as high as 22%. Now, according to her, Tenerife has become the economic center of the archipelago, where most jobs are created, and unemployment has fallen to 11% – the best figure since 2007.

Efraín Medina, who is responsible for employment issues, added that ISOS is a chance for educated women who find it difficult to find their first job. Thanks to this project, they will not only be able to find employment, but also contribute to the creation of a fair society with equal opportunities.

700,000 euros are being allocated to the ISOS project – 200,000 euros more than originally planned. In addition, participants will be able to receive up to 900 euros for transport and meals during training. And if women need to take care of children under 12 or other family members, they will receive an additional 150 euros per month.

Since 2018, the ISOS project has already helped 400 women in Tenerife. In the last two years alone, 200 women have found jobs, and 1.2 million euros have been invested in the project.

The main goal of the project is to help women find jobs, especially those who are educated but lack experience. ISOS helps them improve their skills, become more confident, and successfully pass interviews. The project also introduces women to entrepreneurship and provides an opportunity to complete internships in real companies so that they can understand how everything works from the inside and establish useful contacts.

As a result, ISOS helps women find jobs by improving their professional skills and establishing connections with companies so that they can successfully find employment in the local labor market.
