Tenerife will honor the memory of writer Alexis Ravelo with an exhibition and a program of events.

It has been over two years since Alexis Ravelo passed away. His readers deeply miss his books, humor, and kindness. To honor his memory, the exhibition "The Other Lives of Alexis Ravelo" has been organized. It is being presented by the Antonio Lozano Cultural Department, together with the University of La Laguna, the Council of Tenerife, and the municipal authorities of Puerto de la Cruz.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on September 11 at 7:15 PM in the Cultural Space of the San Felipe Castle in Puerto de la Cruz.

Antonio Becerra Bolaños, the curator of the exhibition, will showcase different aspects of Alexis Ravelo's life and work. A similar exhibition was already held in 2024 at the Island Library of Gran Canaria. Javier Rivero Grandoso has prepared a program of events to introduce visitors to this outstanding writer. The participants will include writers C. J. Nieto, Carlos Zanón, Jon Arretxe, José Luis Correa, Julia Rivero, critics Marta Marne, Eduardo García Rojas, and Belén González Morales. Also present will be the editor of AlRevés, Gregorio Dolz, and Amandine Pi, the translator of Ravelo's novels into French. To conclude, the Theater Group of Philology will present the play "Textículos" based on Ravelo's micro-stories.

The exhibition will run from September 11 to 28, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Sundays and Mondays are closed.
