TF-5 Crash Injures Two in Santa Cruz
Two men were moderately injured and hospitalized after a car and motorcycle collided on the TF-5 highway in Santa Cruz de Tenerife early Saturday morning.
An accident on the TF-5 highway, a major road in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, left two people moderately injured early Saturday morning. Emergency services (112) in the Canary Islands reported that the crash, involving a car and a motorcycle, happened at 2:03 AM on the northbound section of the road within the capital city.
Two men, aged 33 and 38, were treated at the scene by the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) before being taken to hospitals. The 33-year-old, who had multiple injuries, was taken by a medical ambulance to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands. The 38-year-old, whose condition was described as moderate, was transported in a basic ambulance to the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria.
The 112 emergency coordination center organized a large response. This included the SUC with two medical ambulances and one basic ambulance, along with the Tenerife Fire Department, the Civil Guard, and the Road Service. Firefighters secured the area, while the Civil Guard started an investigation to find out what caused the accident. The Road Service was vital in quickly getting traffic back to normal on this busy road. Nighttime accidents, often linked to higher speeds, can greatly affect safety and traffic flow here.
