Tenerife Wine Festival Draws Crowds With Sustainable Drone Light Show

The ninth Great Tenerife Wine Festival took place this past Saturday at El Socorro Beach in Los Realejos, drawing significant attention from both locals and the tourism industry. The event, now a key showcase for the island’s wine scene, concluded with a spectacular drone light show that traced the shapes of the Canary Islands before forming the silhouette of Tenerife.

The festival featured an impressive selection of local products, with 25 wineries showcasing 79 different labels. The lineup included wines from the Valle de La Orotava, Islas Canarias, Abona, and Tacoronte-Acentejo regions, alongside a guest appearance from Gran Canaria, which brought nine wineries and 15 additional labels. To complement the wine, the event offered 37 culinary options, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free dishes. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to promote "zero-kilometer" local products and keep tourism steady throughout the year.

Music played a central role, with bands including Vamos y la liamos, Sin cobertura, and Stereogroove performing from 6:00 p.m. until the early hours of the morning. By hosting the event at El Socorro Beach, organizers highlighted the northern region's commitment to blending cultural identity with modern technology. The public’s enthusiastic response confirmed the popularity of drone displays, which offer a sustainable, waste-free alternative to traditional fireworks while respecting the coastal environment.
