In Tenerife, free film screenings called "Cinema Day" are organized for elderly people, featuring adapted films, lectures, and discussions to promote socialization and support emotional well-being.
In Tenerife (Islénior), the support program for the elderly continues. Now they are organizing film screenings for them called "Cinema Day". This will help them communicate and feel part of a large community.
The Tenerife authorities announced that by the end of the year, the Multicines Tenerife cinema will show 5 films, which about a thousand elderly people from all over the island will be able to watch.
"Cinema Day" is a great opportunity to combine culture, recreation and positive emotions. It is said that cinema not only entertains, but also helps to remember the past and unites different generations.
The organizers want cinema to be accessible to everyone. Therefore, adapted versions of famous films will be shown, taking into account the needs of people with disabilities. The halls will have subtitles, pictograms and special markings.
In addition to watching films, lectures and discussions will be held for the elderly. This will be a place where they can share their thoughts and feelings, which will positively affect their emotional state.
The project is being implemented together with the organizations Charlas de Cine and Alda Projects, which have extensive experience in holding film screenings, discussions and other events that unite different generations.
