Tenerife will host the 35th CONAIF Congress: the installation industry discusses the future.
Tenerife is preparing to host the 35th CONAIF Congress, the most important event in Spain for installation and maintenance professionals, where they will discuss the future of the industry, the energy transition, and the challenges associated with staff shortages.
Tenerife is preparing to host the 35th CONAIF Congress! What does this mean for Apigaste and Femete?
It is a great honor for us to host such an important event. This year, Apigaste celebrates its 35th anniversary, and we have the opportunity to organize the annual CONAIF Congress – the most authoritative event in our industry in Spain. Together with CONAIF, the Cabildo of Tenerife, and Femete, we have been working for many months on every detail to ensure that guests experience the professionalism and hospitality of our island. This is the first time Tenerife has hosted this congress, which will bring together representatives from 52 provinces of Spain, as well as manufacturers, distributors, and journalists. We feel a great responsibility, but at the same time, we understand that we are making history.
More than 500 participants are expected. Who exactly will come to the Adán Martín Auditorium in Tenerife?
The congress will feature specialists in the installation of air conditioning, heating, water supply, cooling, gas supply, renewable energy, ventilation, and electricity systems. In addition, we expect manufacturers, distributors, energy companies, and specialized media. The high level of speakers who will discuss not only technical issues, but also social responsibility, digitalization, education, business, and communication is also important. This is a place where everyone who works in the field of installation and maintenance meets, where new strategies, partnerships, and business ideas are born that will determine the future of the industry.
What are the main topics to be discussed at the congress?
In addition to technical reports on renewable energy sources, aerothermics, and digitalization, we will focus on issues that affect our lives: energy transition, the use of renewable fuel boilers, energy independence through biogas, bureaucracy, and the acute shortage of qualified professionals. The congress will be a platform for discussing the future of our industry for the next 3-5 years, which is very important for developing business strategies.
Are there any peculiarities in the installation sector in the Canary Islands, compared to mainland Spain?
Of course, the island location has a big impact. Logistics, transportation costs, dependence on external supplies – all this complicates the work of our companies. Add to this common problems such as unfair competition and a shortage of qualified workers, and the task becomes even more difficult. Therefore, we advocate for quality education, legality, and recognition of our profession.
What are the biggest challenges facing the installation sector in the future?
The biggest challenge is the change of generations. Our industry is important, but not always attractive to young people. Today, companies have waiting lists because they cannot find enough workers. This was not the case before. If we do not change this situation through education and promotion of the profession, we will have serious problems.
What would you like to say to those planning to attend the congress in Tenerife?
Don't hesitate! This is, without a doubt, the event of the year, and for Tenerife, it will be a historic congress. A unique venue – the Adán Martín Auditorium in Tenerife – on a unique island. We want participants to not only gain technical knowledge, but also to be inspired, find new contacts, and get a boost for the development of our industry. We have also invited well-known politicians, such as Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón, to discuss socio-economic challenges, and communication experts, such as Alicia Senovilla and Angie Rigueiro. In addition, guests will enjoy an interesting social program: a tapas tasting tour of La Noria, a cocktail at Lake Martiánez, a gala dinner at the Mac-Key farm, and a tour to Garachico. Everything is designed to create an atmosphere of communication and exchange of experience. We want everyone who comes to feel that they have experienced something special.
