Tenerife Tram Line 1 to Face Weekend Service Disruptions
Metrotenerife has announced service adjustments and shuttle bus replacements for Tram Line 1 this weekend due to scheduled track maintenance and the Binter NightRun event.
Tram Line 1 in Tenerife will face service changes this weekend due to a combination of track maintenance and a local sporting event. Metrotenerife has announced an alternative transport plan to keep Santa Cruz and La Laguna connected.
The most significant disruptions will occur on Sunday, April 19. From 7:00 a.m. until midnight, trams will only run between La Trinidad and Cruz del Señor. The section between Cruz del Señor and the Santa Cruz Interchange will be closed for essential track maintenance. To help passengers, free TITSA shuttle buses will run between these points, and staff will be on-site to assist with transfers.
On Saturday, April 18, the Binter NightRun will also affect the tram route. From 6:30 p.m., service will be shortened to run only between Teatro Guimerá and La Trinidad, meaning the Fundación and Intercambiador stops will be closed. Normal service is expected to resume around 11:30 p.m., once the race concludes and roads are reopened.
Metrotenerife advises passengers to allow extra time for their journeys, particularly on Sunday. Travelers should check official channels and station signage for updates. Full service is scheduled to return on Monday, April 20.
