Tenerife Trade Fair Completes Major Modernization Project
The Tenerife Island Council has completed a major modernization project at the Tenerife Trade Fair, focusing on energy-efficient skylight renovations and roof waterproofing while maintaining full operational capacity for events.
The Tenerife Trade Fair is undergoing a major modernization project, according to the Island Council. Launched last June, the initiative is part of a maintenance strategy designed to improve the building’s energy efficiency and long-term durability.
The technical work has focused on renovating the venue’s skylights, which are essential for natural lighting. The project involved replacing old polycarbonate panels with new materials, deep-cleaning the glass, and thoroughly inspecting all seals. Additionally, a new polyurethane waterproofing system was applied to the roof to protect the structure from weather damage and natural wear.
Manuel Fernández, vice president of the Island Council, noted that these upgrades not only meet safety standards but also restore the natural light that makes the venue a standout choice for trade fairs and congresses. Crucially, the work was carefully scheduled so that the venue could remain fully operational, allowing events to continue without disruption despite the complex roof repairs.
Investing in these large-scale facilities is vital for keeping Tenerife competitive as a destination for national and international events. By improving light management and weatherproofing, the Island Council aims to lower long-term maintenance costs and ensure the venue remains a functional landmark for the region.
