Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host the 17th Conference on Inclusion in the Performing Arts and Music from April 22 to 24, marking the first time the national event has been held outside mainland Spain.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host the 17th Conference on Inclusion in the Performing Arts and Music from April 22 to 24. This marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time the Ministry of Culture and the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM) have held this national event outside of mainland Spain.
Titled "Displacements: Scenarios of Resistance," the conference aims to explore how culture can foster social cohesion in the face of migration and modern social challenges. The event is organized by a committee representing the Santa Cruz city council, the regional government, and the island council. The program features 20 activities, including workshops, project mentorships, and panel discussions.
Events will take place across several venues in Tenerife, with the Auditorio de Tenerife serving as the main hub. Other locations include Espacio La Granja, the La Recova Art Center, the Círculo de Bellas Artes, the Municipal Library, and TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes. Attendees can also enjoy seven stage productions and two documentary screenings designed to encourage collaboration between industry professionals and community groups.
Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez highlighted the conference as a great opportunity to showcase the city on a national stage. Santiago Díaz Mejías, the Councilor for Culture, added that the event allows local artists to join a broader national conversation. Registration and the full program are available on the official INAEM website.
