Tenerife TF-5 Reckless Driving Video Sparks Outrage
A video showing a white Skoda's dangerous illegal overtakes and speeding into oncoming traffic on Tenerife's TF-5 road has sparked online outrage and renewed calls for stricter road safety enforcement.
A dangerous driving incident caught on video on the TF-5 road, near Llanito Perera in Icod de los Vinos, Tenerife, is causing a stir online. The footage shows a white Skoda making illegal overtakes, crossing double solid lines, and speeding into oncoming traffic in a spot where drivers can't see far ahead.
The driver who filmed the incident confirmed that the video's date, time, and location are accurate. They added that after this particular overtake, the Skoda continued to drive dangerously in front of other vehicles. The reckless car even kicked up gravel from the side of the road, hitting the recording car and causing minor damage. "I couldn't report it right away because I didn't have time," the witness explained, "but I wanted to share the video to make people aware. This kind of driving could easily lead to a tragedy."
Such actions are considered a crime of reckless driving under the law. Those found guilty could face serious penalties, including jail time, losing their driver's license, and hefty fines.
Road safety organizations and drivers are urging that these dangerous acts not go unpunished. They encourage anyone who witnesses such incidents to report them, providing videos or license plate numbers if possible.
The TF-5, particularly its northern stretch, has often been criticized for dangerous driving and a lack of safer options in some parts. This latest incident reignites discussions about the need for increased monitoring and tougher penalties to stop extremely risky driving.
