Despite logistical delays preventing the original set from arriving, Auditorio de Tenerife staff swiftly created a new stage for The Flying Dutchman, ensuring all performances will proceed as scheduled.

The stage set for The Flying Dutchman, rented from the Municipal Theater of Santiago, couldn't make it out of Chile. Three containers holding the set were delayed due to logistical issues, which had nothing to do with the Auditorio de Tenerife, where Richard Wagner's opera is being prepared. This unexpected problem created a unique challenge for the Tenerife venue's schedule.

However, the Cabildo (Tenerife's island government) praised the Auditorio de Tenerife staff for their quick thinking and professionalism. Their efforts helped overcome this obstacle, prevent the show from being cancelled, and even allowed them to create a brand new set design in just one week, following director Marcelo Lombardero's vision.

Thanks to over 20 years of experience with large-scale productions, the technical team had existing structures and models. They were able to quickly adapt these to fit the new stage direction and vision.

Beyond the dedicated Auditorio de Tenerife team, the artistic collaborators working with Lombardero also deserve recognition for their extra effort. These include set and multimedia designer Noelia González, lighting director José Luis Fiorruccio, and costume designer Luciana Gutman.

The opera's cast of singers has also shown great willingness and flexibility. As a result, all three performances of The Flying Dutchman will go ahead as scheduled on November 16, 19, and 22.
