The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, led by Pablo González, will perform Debussy's "La Mer," Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring," and the world premiere of Ferran Cruixent's "Emergence (Finding La Mer)" this Friday at the Tenerife Auditorium.

This week, the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra is exploring nature's power in a concert called "The Consecration of the New." Principal guest conductor Pablo González will lead the orchestra this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Tenerife Auditorium.

The concert features two famous pieces: "La Mer" by Claude Debussy and Igor Stravinsky's groundbreaking "The Rite of Spring." Plus, you'll hear the world premiere of "Emergence (Finding La Mer)," a new piece by composer Ferran Cruixent, specially commissioned for this event.

"This concert takes you on a musical adventure where nature represents creation, change, and raw power," says Pablo González. "These pieces use rhythm and sound to create intense emotions, from the ocean depths to the earth itself."

The show starts with Cruixent's "Emergence (Finding La Mer)," a tribute to Debussy's "La Mer." Cruixent explains that it's about tiny particles coming together to form something huge and alive. The piece uses electronic sounds and unusual instruments to create a rich and immersive experience.

"Emergence sees the sea as a metaphor: separate particles uniting to create something vast, deep, and eternal," says Cruixent. "It's a celebration of survival, hope, and the life force that's reborn in the water."

After that, you'll hear Debussy's "La Mer" (1905), which paints the sea as an ever-changing landscape of orchestral colors. Finally, Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" (1913) bursts onto the scene with its raw and primal energy.

Tickets are available at www.sinfonicadetenerife.es, by phone, and at the Tenerife Auditorium box office (open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). If you want to learn more about the music, attend the "Musical Viewpoint" event on Friday at 6:45 p.m. in the Castillo Gallery of the Tenerife Auditorium, featuring Pablo González.
