Tenerife Swimrun Returns Saturday
The Tenerife Swimrun 2025, a unique multi-lap event combining swimming and running, was announced for Saturday, December 13, at Las Teresitas beach, introducing new youth categories.
The Tenerife Swimrun 2025 was officially announced this Tuesday at the Cabildo's Noble Hall. It's one of the island's most unique and anticipated sports events, expecting over 200 athletes to take part this year.
Las Teresitas beach will again host this popular event, which will be held this Saturday, December 13, starting at 1:00 PM. This year, participants can compete in two main categories: SOLO and TEAM. Both categories will use the same 3,312-meter course, which includes 812 meters of swimming and 2,500 meters of running.
Participants can choose to complete one, two, three, or four laps to finish the race. Maximum times for each lap are 45, 40, 30, and 25 minutes, respectively. Competitors have a total of two hours and 20 minutes to complete all four laps.
To encourage young people and promote sports, the organizers are adding new cadet and junior categories this year for athletes aged 14 to 17. These younger participants will complete one full lap of the course.
The Tenerife Swimrun Kids event is also back, for children aged 10 to 13, featuring a shorter 1,000-meter course (200 meters swimming, 800 meters running). This shows the event's dedication to getting new generations involved in swimrun.
Attending the presentation were Manolo Gómez, CEO of Ideco; Alicia Cebrián, Sports Councilor for Santa Cruz de Tenerife; and Andy Ortega, director of Swimrun Series Canarias.
