Tenerife Son Stabs Father; Friends Charged With Robbery
Police in Tenerife arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his father and two friends for violent robbery during the same domestic incident.
A young man has been arrested in Tenerife, accused of stabbing his father at their home. The domestic violence incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, October 27, at a residence in La Laguna.
National Police officers arrested the 23-year-old son, who is suspected of the knife attack. His two friends were also arrested, accused of violent robbery.
The incident began around 5:15 AM when the 23-year-old, reportedly accompanied by his two friends, entered his father's house in Polígono Padre Anchieta, La Laguna. Following an argument, the young man allegedly went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and then approached his 48-year-old father.
The father sustained a stab wound to an arm. He was taken to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (HUC) but was discharged later that same day.
During the incident, the suspect's mother tried to call emergency services (Cecoes). However, one or both of the friends allegedly took her mobile phone to prevent her from making the call.
National Police officers from the La Laguna station arrested all three young men involved. The son was charged with assault, while his two companions were charged with alleged violent robbery.
All three appeared before Instruction Court number 2 in La Laguna on Wednesday morning. They were subsequently released on provisional bail, with charges pending trial.
