Tenerife Shelter Seeks Home for Barking Puppy Coconut
Tenerife's Valle Colino Regional Shelter is seeking an active home for Coconut, a six-month-old mixed-breed dog surrendered due to barking issues with his previous owner's neighbors.
The Valle Colino Regional Shelter in Tenerife is looking for a new home for Coconut, a six-month-old, 14.6-kilogram mixed-breed dog. He was recently given up by his previous owner.
The shelter explained on Facebook that Coconut's previous owner had to give him up because his barking was causing problems with neighbors in her apartment building.
Coconut looks a bit like a Garafian Shepherd. The shelter team describes him as "adorable, active, and very affectionate." He gets along well with people, even strangers, and lives happily with other dogs at the shelter. They don't know how he is with cats.
Because Coconut is still growing and full of energy, he needs lots of daily exercise, playtime, walks, and mental stimulation. This means he wouldn't be a good fit for someone who is very inactive or elderly.
The shelter says, "He's a puppy with lots of energy and a desire to explore everything!" They hope to find a family who loves being outdoors and is ready to continue his training to help him grow into a well-behaved adult.
Coconut will be neutered, microchipped, and have all his vaccinations up to date when adopted. Adoptions are done in person only, and you can't reserve him beforehand. The shelter stresses that these posts are meant to find real homes, not just online comments.
They emphasize, "We don't need people to say they'd adopt him; we need someone to come to the shelter and give him a chance."
Valle Colino is open Monday to Saturday from 11 AM to 6 PM, and on Sundays and holidays from 10 AM to 1 PM. No appointment is needed.
You can find the shelter at Calle Cartagena s/n, Finca España, Tenerife. For more information, call 673 895 015.
