Tenerife’s public transport operator, Titsa, will restructure its network starting June 22 to prioritize beach and leisure destinations for the summer season while suspending school-related routes.

Tenerife’s public transport operator, Titsa, is shifting its services to match the summer season. Starting June 22, the network will be restructured to move passengers away from schools and city centers and toward the island’s beaches and leisure spots.

This seasonal change is a standard part of Titsa’s calendar, designed to meet the high demand for coastal travel during the summer months.

Key changes to the network:

  • Capital and Anaga: Service to Las Teresitas (line 910) will run more frequently, and weekend service to the Anaga coastline (line 946) will be increased. New seasonal lines 546 and 948 will also launch, providing easier access to Playa del Socorro, Benijo, and Almáciga.
  • Northern and Metropolitan areas: Line 050 will add more weekday trips, and line 021 will offer extra evening services in Tacoronte and Mesa del Mar. Line 224 will adjust its route to serve La Barranquera and Jover instead of Bajamar and Punta del Hidalgo.
  • Natural and protected areas: Buses to Punta de Teno (line 369) and El Rincón (line 376) will run more often, and line 380 in La Orotava will extend its route.
  • Interurban routes: Lines 138 and 139 will now reach Playa de la Nea, and weekend service on line 122 between Santa Cruz and Candelaria will be reinforced.

Suspended services: Because demand drops when schools are closed, several routes will be temporarily suspended starting June 22. This includes university shuttles (605, 606, 608, and 611) and lines 392, 410, 412, 419, 421, and 486. Additionally, line 023 will see changes to its route through El Pris and its operating hours.

By encouraging the use of public transport, Titsa aims to reduce traffic and parking congestion at popular beaches. Passengers are encouraged to check the new timetables on the Titsa website before traveling, as the island adjusts its logistics to handle the shift in summer traffic.
