Tenerife’s Sunblast Festival Draws 20,000, Cementing Canary Islands as Major Music Hub
The Sunblast festival in Tenerife solidified the Canary Islands' status as a premier music tourism destination by drawing nearly 20,000 attendees to its latest multi-genre event at Golf Costa Adeje.
Spain’s music festival scene has firmly established the Canary Islands as a premier destination, highlighted by the recent success of the Sunblast festival in Tenerife. Held on August 8th at Golf Costa Adeje, the event drew nearly 20,000 attendees, proving the archipelago’s strength in attracting both domestic and international tourists through major entertainment events.
Organized by Farra World, the festival featured seven stages running simultaneously for nine hours of non-stop music. The lineup offered a wide variety of genres, including techno, house, drum & bass, and urban music—the latter bolstered this year by the addition of the popular Bresh XXL format. With over 45 acts, the event successfully balanced global stars like James Hype, Indira Paganotto, Wilkinson, and Mochakk with a strong showing of local and national talent.
The festival also focused on enhancing the attendee experience through smart design, such as a 360º backstage layout and the new Panorama VIP Zone. These features were designed to bring the audience closer to the performers, reflecting a professional approach to event management that helps the festival stand out in a competitive market.
Sunblast is backed by several key organizations, including Promotur, Tourism of Tenerife, the Canary Islands Government, and the Adeje City Council. This public-private partnership highlights the festival’s role as a vital economic driver and a staple of the islands' summer calendar. By attracting a diverse crowd of both residents and visitors, Sunblast has become a prime example of how to successfully grow and sustain large-scale events in the region.
