Tenerife's Plaza del Cabildo to Host 'Winter Star' Christmas Show

Tenerife's Plaza del Cabildo is set to become a magical place this Christmas with a new show called "Christmas Illusions - Winter Star." It opens on December 19 at 8:00 PM.

Rosa Dávila, president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, explained that the building itself will act as a huge screen for this grand event. Its architecture will be used to create an immersive experience with 3D videomapping, LED lights, lasers, and special effects.

She described the show as a blend of traditional Christmas charm and modern technology. "Winter Star" will take audiences on a magical journey through the "Kingdoms of Christmas": Memory, Wonder, Tradition, and Dreams.

Dávila also highlighted that the Cabildo de Tenerife is once again showing its strong commitment to culture and art. The event offers locals and visitors a high-quality show that will not only enhance the festive season but also showcase local talent, establishing the Canary Islands as a hub for creativity and excellence.

Enrique Camacho, director of Encaro Factory, pointed out that "Winter Star" is a completely original production made specifically for the Cabildo, featuring specially composed music. This makes it a 100% Canarian show. The musical and vocal performances will include a top-tier Canarian cast, chosen for their artistic skill and connection to the Tenerife audience. The featured voices are Alexis Hernández, Jadel, Mel Ömana, Miriam Reyes, and Árgel Campos.

Building on the success of last year's "Brillantina en Navidad" (Christmas Glitter) show, "Winter Star" promises an unforgettable Christmas experience, filled with emotion, advanced technology, and a strong focus on local talent.

Beyond offering a unique visual spectacle, the show demonstrates Tenerife's dedication to culture and entertainment. "Winter Star" supports the Cabildo's goal of promoting arts and culture, aiming to make Tenerife a leading destination for major European shows.

"Winter Star" isn't just about visuals and technology; it's also designed to be an inclusive and accessible experience for everyone, regardless of age. Set designer Carlos Santos and lighting and mapping coordinator Juanjo Beloqui explained that every part of the show, from the music to the stage design, aims to engage the entire audience. They added that virtual worlds will be created using infographics, "all modeled and animated by hand."

The lighting, in particular, is designed to make the audience feel fully immersed, as if they are part of the scene itself.

Beyond its cultural significance, "Winter Star" also brings positive economic benefits to the local area. The event has created up to 100 direct and indirect jobs in fields like sound, lighting, set design, and production.
