Tenerife's Míriam Reyes Releases Double Carnival Single, Renzzo el Selector Debuts as Producer
Tenerife artist Míriam Reyes has released two new carnival-inspired merengue songs, "Romance de carnaval" and a 12th-anniversary version of "Con la mano arriba," with the former marking Renzzo el Selector's debut as producer.
Tenerife artist Míriam Reyes is making a splash in the Spanish music scene with two new carnival-inspired songs. This double release is special not only for the new music but also because it marks Renzzo el Selector's debut as a music producer and composer.
The main song, "Romance de carnaval" (Carnival Romance), is a merengue track with a clear 90s feel. Renzzo el Selector produced and wrote this piece, which is also the first song from his upcoming EP, "Metamorfosis" (Metamorphosis). Míriam Reyes says the song captures the essence of carnival nights: the excitement of street parties, drinks, and a carefree atmosphere that often leads to short-lived romances.
Musically, "Romance de carnaval" takes inspiration from famous merengue groups and artists like Los Melódicos, Las Chicas del Can, and Diveana. This choice highlights Míriam Reyes' skill in a style she knows well, thanks to her long career performing with Canarian orchestras. This background has made her a familiar face in the carnival music scene.
At the same time, Míriam Reyes is releasing a new version of "Con la mano arriba" (With Hands Up). This was her very first carnival song, and this new version celebrates its twelfth anniversary. This time, it's a merengue track, produced by Venezuelan Bliachas Pro.
To help "Romance de carnaval" reach more people, a social media plan has been launched. This includes a dance challenge, which Renzzo el Selector and Míriam Reyes are promoting together to expand the song's reach.
