Tenerife’s sold-out "Golf & Fun 2026" event combines premier golf with local cultural immersion to promote experiential tourism and support breast cancer research.

Tenerife is once again proving its appeal as a premium destination for experiential tourism with the upcoming "Golf & Fun 2026" event, which has already sold out all 100 available spots. Taking place from September 1st to 4th, the event is more than just a golf tournament; it is a strategic effort to attract European visitors—particularly from Belgium—who want to move beyond traditional sightseeing and truly immerse themselves in local culture.

The event’s success highlights a shift in the travel industry: visitors are increasingly looking for emotional and professional connections to the places they visit, rather than just sun and sand. To meet this demand, the organizers have selected top-tier courses like Abama Golf, Golf Costa Adeje, Golf del Sur, and Golf Los Palos as the foundation for an agenda that blends sport with local gastronomy, folklore, and tradition.

Supported by a mix of public and private partners, the event aims to diversify Tenerife’s tourism offer and keep it active throughout the year. By including activities like traditional games at Finca La Calabacera and a closing ceremony inspired by the Tenerife Carnival, the organizers are successfully showcasing the island’s unique cultural identity. This approach also benefits the local economy, as the event relies on regional catering and service providers.

Beyond tourism, the event has a strong charitable focus. A portion of the registration fees will be donated to the "Carrera por la Vida" association to support breast cancer patients, with the Menceyes Group pledging to match the total donation. With backing from the municipalities of Adeje, Guía de Isora, and San Miguel de Abona, alongside various private brands, the event underscores Tenerife’s commitment to attracting high-quality tourism that builds lasting relationships with the island.
