Tenerife's Fimucité festival is strengthening its international presence through a strategic partnership with the Roma Film Music Festival ahead of its 20th-anniversary celebration in 2026.

The Tenerife-based Fimucité festival is expanding its international reach by joining the fifth annual Roma Film Music Festival (Roma FMF) in Italy, held from March 16 to 22. This partnership marks a significant milestone for the festival as it celebrates its 20th anniversary—a record for the world’s longest-running film music event.

The Spanish delegation’s presence in Rome, organized by Forum Studios and the Orchestra Italiana del Cinema, goes beyond simple representation. The festival will promote the Canary Islands through special screenings at iconic venues like the Forum Theatre and the Auditorium Conciliazione, aiming to strengthen ties between the island’s cultural scene and the European film music industry.

Fimucité director Diego Navarro will also play a key role in the event. On March 19, he will join a "Film Music Talks" panel alongside Marco Patrignani and Krakow festival director Agata Grabowiecka. This discussion highlights the growing collaboration between these three major festivals, positioning Tenerife as a vital hub in the global film music community.

This collaboration serves as a lead-up to Fimucité’s 20th-anniversary edition, scheduled for July 3 to 19, 2026. Organizers aim to make the event a global centerpiece for the industry, supported by backing from Turismo de Tenerife, the Island Council, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, and the Canary Islands Institute of Cultural Development. With the continued support of the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra and the Auditorio de Tenerife, the festival remains committed to its goal of reaching an international audience through cultural excellence.
