The City Council officially closed the beach at 1:32 p.m., with lifeguards using the public address system to clear the water and inform visitors.
This move follows European and national safety regulations, which require local authorities to prioritize public health if water quality drops below standard levels. The beach will remain closed until new tests confirm the water is safe for swimming again.
