Tenerife’s El Puertito de Güímar to Host Summer Fest and Coastal Cleanup
El Puertito de Güímar in Tenerife will host the 2026 Güímar Summer Fest this Saturday, featuring a full day of local music, sustainable food options, and a coastal cleanup initiative.
Public spaces along the Tenerife coastline are back in the spotlight this weekend as El Puertito de Güímar prepares to host the 2026 Güímar Summer Fest – Boncho Tour. The event aims to become a key gathering spot for both locals and visitors.
Taking place this Saturday, August 22, the festival will be held at the Plaza del Radioaficionado (formerly Plaza de Las Indias). The program runs from 1:00 p.m. until midnight and features a variety of food options, including vegan and gluten-free choices, provided by local catering businesses.
Beyond the entertainment, organizers are highlighting the local economy. A dedicated area for "kilometer zero" producers supports the growing movement to promote local goods, reduce carbon footprints, and strengthen the circular economy. This focus on sustainability continues on Sunday, August 23, with an environmental volunteer event called "For a Clean Boncho." Supported by Cerveza Dorada, the initiative encourages attendees to help clean and protect the coastline, emphasizing the importance of waste management in popular beach areas.
The festival is free to attend and features a lineup of regional and local musicians performing throughout the eleven-hour event. By combining leisure with support for local products and environmental awareness, the festival reflects a broader trend in the Canary Islands: balancing summer entertainment with social and environmental responsibility.
