The 2nd Asintrauto Congress recently gathered approximately 200 Canary Islands car industry professionals at the Tenerife Exhibition Centre for a day of learning, discussion, and networking, supported by Asintra, Femete, and Tenerife's Department of Industry.

Last Saturday, November 29, the Tenerife Exhibition Centre hosted the 2nd Asintrauto Congress. This event was organized by Asintra, the association for car repair workshops in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (part of Femete), with support from Tenerife's Department of Industry and the ARI Group. About 200 car industry professionals from the Canary Islands came together for a day of learning, discussion, psychology, and even comedy. The next congress will be held in 2027.

Manuel Fernández, Head of Industry for Tenerife's government (Cabildo), opened the congress. He emphasized his department's strong dedication to supporting the car repair industry and, by extension, other related businesses on the island. Other speakers included Francisco Roca, president of Asintra; Juan Antonio Jiménez Arranz, president of Femete; and Miguel Pérez Carballo, president of Cetraa.

The ARI Group then showcased its work in the sector and its services in the Canary Islands. The group includes Origen, a network of car dealerships; Recalvi, a top spare parts company; and RecOfficial, a national network of workshops. Adrián Gutiérrez, Rosy Miranda, and Paco Lobo presented their plans. The ARI Group also put on an impressive exhibition, both inside and outside the centre, bringing over six vehicles.

Later that morning, Gaspar Pedreño, also known as ‘Rebel Workshop Owner’, shared insights from body repair specialists, focusing on common problems with insurance companies. After a coffee break, psychologist Pascual Benet spoke about leadership and ways to improve personally and professionally.

The afternoon session began after a lunch reception with a comedy monologue by Ayoze Pérez from La Palma, who charmed the audience with a story involving a geolocatable beacon. Ayoze then introduced Santi Bécares, a highly influential figure in the automotive sector on social media. Santi offered advice on improving a business's image and attracting clients using platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

The day concluded with a raffle offering up to six prizes, followed by a discussion panel. This panel included business leaders from Femete and Fredica, other industry professionals, and even students who shared their training experiences. Lara García Pozo, from ‘A Pie de Taller’, moderated the discussion.
