Tenerife's 29th Solidarity Awards Recognize Inclusion Efforts

The 29th Solidarity Awards, organized by Sinpromi's Tenerife Isla Solidaria Program, honored individuals and groups, including volunteers, schools, businesses, and media, for their contributions to social inclusion and support for vulnerable people on the island.

The 29th Solidarity Awards, organized by Sinpromi through its Tenerife Isla Solidaria Program, recently honored individuals and groups who have championed social inclusion, equal opportunities, and support for vulnerable people. This includes volunteers, volunteer organizations, schools, businesses, and media outlets.

This significant event, now a key recognition in the world of solidarity, celebrated efforts that improve the lives of many. Five awards and three honorable mentions were given to volunteer groups, volunteers, companies, schools, and media outlets for their contributions to a fairer and more inclusive society. Since starting in 1997, these annual awards have recognized 181 different organizations and individuals.

The awards ceremony took place at the Tenerife Exhibition Center, bringing together leaders from social, business, and government sectors for an emotional evening of recognition. Lope Afonso Hernández, Vice President of the Tenerife Island Council, led the event, with Sinpromi's CEO, Adal García, and other local officials also present.

Lope Afonso stated that the awards show the Council's strong dedication to volunteering in Tenerife. He emphasized that they recognize vital work across many parts of society. The goal is to highlight, value, and encourage acts of solidarity through the awards and honorable mentions, showcasing their positive impact on everyone's well-being, particularly for those most in need.

The Vice President also praised all volunteers, especially those receiving awards. He said their commitment, generosity, and dedication embody society's highest values and serve as an inspiring guide toward a fairer and more equal future.

The event celebrated various initiatives that showcase the rich and diverse solidarity efforts across Tenerife. Awards went to: ASOCIDE Canarias (the Association of People with Deafblindness of the Canary Islands) for their outstanding work; dedicated volunteer Gloria Esther Álvarez Pérez from the Mariposas Blancas association; CEIP Camino Largo school for their excellent collaboration; the committed FEDOLA Group in the company category; and Radio Sur Adeje – Programa Viva la Vida for their valuable media contribution.

An Honorable Mention was given to volunteer Isabel Moreno Aranda. She was recognized for her consistent and valuable work with AMATE, the Tenerife Diabetes Association (ADT), and the Mariposas Blancas association. Her dedication, effort, and admirable commitment have made an invaluable contribution to the solidarity and well-being of the community.

Through this event, the 29th Solidarity Awards 2025 once again showed its dedication to creating a more inclusive and supportive community. It celebrated those whose daily efforts make a real difference in many lives, working tirelessly to ensure solidarity thrives throughout the island.
