Tenerife Resident Wins €21,357 in EuroMillions Draw
A lottery player in Guía de Isora, Tenerife, has won 21,357 euros after matching five numbers in the latest EuroMillions draw.
Luck has struck Tenerife once again, continuing a streak of winning tickets in the Canary Islands. According to Loterías y Apuestas del Estado, a third-category EuroMillions prize was awarded in the town of Guía de Isora during the draw on Friday, June 5.
The winning ticket, purchased at 5 La Entrada Street, is worth 21,357 euros. The holder correctly matched the five main numbers—05, 06, 16, 17, and 49—but missed the two lucky stars, 2 and 12.
EuroMillions has been running across nine European countries since it began in Paris in 2004, with draws held every Tuesday and Friday. Because the game offers various prize tiers based on how many numbers are matched, these intermediate wins are relatively common.
For the winner in Guía de Isora, the prize is tax-free. Under Spanish law, lottery winnings are only subject to a special tax if they exceed 40,000 euros. Since this prize is below that threshold, the winner will receive the full 21,357 euros.
