To mark World Tourism Day, an exhibition of traditional Canarian clothing has opened at Tenerife South Airport to introduce tourists to the local culture.

An interesting exhibition showcasing the traditional clothing of the Canary Islands was held at Tenerife South Airport. This was done specifically for World Tourism Day, so that guests and locals could better get acquainted with the culture of the islands.

The event was organized by the Center for Initiatives and Tourism of Southern Tenerife, together with the airport and local authorities. Travelers could view antique costumes from different times and cities, and also read about their history, what they were made of, and how they were worn on holidays.

Right in the airport's arrival area, one could take pictures near the exhibits and learn how to properly wear traditional clothing. They also showed how to combine different elements of the costumes. Tourists from other countries were very interested to learn about the diversity and significance of local clothing.

Efraín Medina, who is responsible for employment and education in the local government, said that traditional clothing is a symbol that unites people with their history and roots.

He added that showing such clothing at the airport on World Tourism Day is a great idea. This way, tourists will understand that the island has not only sun and beaches, but also a rich culture and traditions. This exhibition is also a thank you to those who have preserved this heritage.

He also noted the work of the local council on traditional clothing, which has been helping to preserve and promote local costumes for ten years. Thanks to them, we can proudly show the richness of our clothing, which is becoming another attraction for tourists and a symbol of identity for all residents of the Canary Islands.

With this event, Tenerife South Airport and local authorities joined the celebration of World Tourism Day, which this year is dedicated to the importance of culture and local identity for the development of tourism.
