Tenerife Police Solve €9,000 Jewelry Theft, Suspect Charged
Tenerife police arrested a 38-year-old man, known for similar crimes, for stealing 16 white gold rings worth over 9,000 euros from an Adeje jewelry shop, after a pawned ring helped identify him.
Police in Tenerife have finished investigating the theft of 16 white gold rings, worth over 9,000 euros, from a jewelry shop in a shopping centre in Adeje. They arrested a 38-year-old man with a history of similar crimes, who has now been handed over to the courts.
The theft happened at the jewelry store in Adeje. The suspect waited for a busy moment, then grabbed a whole tray of rings. Police used security camera footage from the shop to understand how the crime happened.
A key moment in the investigation came when one of the stolen rings was pawned and recognized by its owner. This helped officers identify the 38-year-old man, who was already known to police for similar property crimes. He was arrested in February while already in police custody for another issue, which made it easier to formally charge him for the jewelry theft.
