National Police shut down a cocaine dealing operation in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna, arresting one person and seizing over 2.2 kg of cocaine, a Taser, and a machete from a secret stash house.

National Police officers have shut down a drug dealing operation in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna. They arrested one person suspected of drug trafficking.

The investigation was part of an anti-drug operation. Police confirmed that the suspect was selling cocaine, usually in small amounts for personal use. He would travel in various vehicles, often delivering the drugs directly to buyers' homes.

After many police observations, officers noticed the suspect frequently visited an industrial warehouse in the Sobradillo neighborhood. He would stay for a few minutes, then leave with what appeared to be drugs, which he would then distribute.

Investigators believed the warehouse was a 'caleta' – a secret stash house for drugs, designed to evade police and legal action. Police confirmed this in a statement.

Because of this, police obtained a court order to search both the suspect's home and the warehouse. Officers first raided the suspect's home, where they arrested him and seized various amounts of drugs.

Next, officers searched the industrial warehouse. With help from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Local Police's Canine Unit, they found 2,228.96 grams of cocaine hidden under various items, along with 72.40 grams of cutting agents.

Police also seized a working Taser and a military-style machete from the arrested person.

The arrested individual has been charged with drug trafficking. This police operation is considered to have shut down a cocaine dealing hub in the Las Hespérides area of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
