Tenerife Peñón Fest, featuring Spanish pop, rock, and indie stars, kicks off this Saturday in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, expecting a large turnout and significant tourism boost.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is gearing up for the Tenerife Peñón Fest this Saturday, a non-stop music party with over nine hours of live performances in the Palmetum parking area. Doors open at 3:30 p.m., and the festival is expected to draw a big crowd to enjoy the best of Spanish pop, rock, and indie music.

Lope Afonso, Vice President of the Tenerife Island Council, Carmen Pérez, Councilor for Employment, Commerce, and Tourism of the Santa Cruz City Council, and Jairo Núñez, the festival director, announced the details yesterday.

The Tenerife Peñón Fest, now in its second year in Tenerife's capital, boasts a lineup featuring Dani Fernández, Nil Moliner, Zahara, Bebe, Carolina Durante, Siloé, and Sexy Zebras. The festival aims to be a top musical event by combining big-name Spanish artists with a fantastic location, boosting the island's cultural scene and reputation as a great place for music.

Jairo Núñez said, "We want to keep the original spirit of the Tenerife Peñón Fest alive while also evolving and updating the format to connect with younger audiences. This year's bands are headliners at major indie-pop festivals both in Spain and internationally."

Núñez also pointed out that over 30% of ticket buyers are coming from outside the Canary Islands, mainly from cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, and Valencia in Spain, as well as Portugal, Italy, and the UK in Europe. "This is significant because it shows the positive economic and social impact the festival will have on the island. It's a chance to enjoy live music in a special setting, share great moments, and further establish Santa Cruz and Tenerife as a leading tourist, cultural, and musical destination in the Canary Islands," he added.

The festival is supported by the regional government through the Ministry of Tourism and Promotur with its brand Islas Canarias Latitud de Vida, as well as the Canary Institute for Cultural Development; the Island Council, through Tourism of Tenerife and Tenerife Despierta Emociones; the capital's City Council, with the Development Society and its brand Santa Cruz, el Corazón de Tenerife. Collaborators include Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea, Silken Hotel Atlántida, Pepsi-Cola, Arehucas, Audiovisuales Canarias, Sonopluss, and Masquecarpas.
