A rescue helicopter from the Canary Islands government saved a runner who fell during a marathon in Anaga Rural Park, La Laguna, Tenerife.
The 56-year-old man fell on Sunday around 2:45 PM in Chinamada, a hard-to-reach area. Due to the difficult terrain, the Emergency Coordinating Center dispatched a helicopter.
The runner suffered moderate injuries and was flown to Tenerife North Airport. From there, a basic life support ambulance took him to Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital.
