The Tenerife Provincial Court confirmed a two-year and one-day prison sentence for a man who posted fake online cleaning job ads to lure women for sexual relations, resulting in an attempted sexual abuse report.

The Tenerife Provincial Court has confirmed a sentence of two years and one day in prison for a man. He had been posting online ads for house cleaners, but his real intention was to have sexual relations with the applicants.

One woman reported him for attempted sexual abuse. During the police investigation, officers found 54 phone numbers of women, most of whom were foreigners. The court found it proven that he would first contact these women and then make sexual suggestions.

The Court noted that the accused partly supported the victim's story. He admitted being at the location and time of the incident and confirmed he contacted women through the ads because he wanted to meet people, and that he asked about their nationality.

The defendant had previously been fined for the same offense just days before. The new ruling states it is proven that he used the ad website with the true aim of getting women to come to his house for sex.

The court document describes how the woman contacted the accused online for the cleaning job. While she was working, the man tried to abuse her, but she fought back.

The defendant appealed the decision, claiming his conviction was based only on the victim's testimony, which he said had contradictions. For example, she first said she ran out, then later that she walked out.

The woman explained that she didn't report the incident until almost two weeks later because of her difficult situation in the country. However, she stated that when she saw him post the ad again, her goal was to stop anyone else from falling into the same trap.

The accused argued that she had initially allowed him to photograph her ID, which he claimed proved he never intended to abuse her. He also mentioned that another woman had cleaned his house for a year without any issues. The Court rejected these arguments.

The Criminal Court also added an aggravating factor for taking advantage of the situation. He must also remain on supervised release for five years, during which he cannot approach or contact the woman.
