Volleyball club "Tenerife Libby's La Laguna", with a renewed roster and a new coach, Guillermo Orduna, is preparing for its 15th season in the Spanish Superliga, having presented a uniform designed by artificial intelligence.

With the strength of the sea: "Tenerife Libby's La Laguna" is preparing for its 15th season! The club, founded in 2011, will play for the 11th consecutive year in the highest volleyball league in Spain – the Iberdrola League.

Thanks to President David Martín, who was once also the coach, the team has firmly established itself in the Superliga, becoming one of the leaders. Behind them is a League victory, a Super Cup, three Queen's Cups, and a silver medal at the European Challenge Cup.

After a difficult 24/25 season, when the players were plagued by injuries, "Libby's" is expecting big changes. Guillermo Orduna will be the new coach, replacing Facundo Morando. The team's roster will be almost completely renewed – only Quinn Pelland, Marga Piza, Yésica Soto, and Camila Olguin will remain. They will be joined by club graduate Andrea Rodríguez and seven new players.

The changes have affected not only the roster but also the uniform. "Tenerife Libby's" presented a third kit designed by artificial intelligence. It combines the black color of sand and rocks, the blue color of the sky and sea, and white resembles sea foam. During the season, players will vote on which kit to wear for each match (white-blue and pink remain in the arsenal), taking into account the venue and the colors of the opponents.

"They say that sport is quickly forgotten, like waves wash away traces. But on our island with black sand, history remains. For 15 years, we have been fighting the waves, writing our history with fire and sea. "Haris" continues its journey," the club said.

The official presentation of the team and the new uniform took place at the Grupo Domingo Alonso dealership. The event was attended by players, coaches, President Martín, Sports Councilor Yolanda Moliné, and Volkswagen representative Javier Hernández.

Orduna, who has been entrusted to lead the renewed team, is confident in the project. According to him, in the first weeks, "the team has made significant progress both individually and collectively." "We had a long seven-week preparation. We started with a small group, which gradually increased as new players joined, especially those who played in the World Championship, like Marga, Pelland, or Fortuna," said the Argentinian coach.

"This is a new team, only four players remain from last season, many young girls. We have high hopes and desires. We have worked hard on physical fitness, and I think we have approached the season in the best shape," he added.

Despite the high expectations, Orduna calls for patience: "Patience is needed by everyone – coaches, players, and management. Results are important, but we learn from mistakes. It is important to approach the final part of the championship with a strong team, good results, so that the team is at its peak at important moments."

Club President David Martín also emphasizes the importance of time and expresses full confidence in the coach: "We are very happy with Guillermo. He is the perfect coach for this team. We have many young players, and he has a lot of experience. He was the only Argentinian coach to lead the women's national team to the Olympic Games. He has great authority and knows how to manage a team. He encourages the creativity of the players, but this comes at the cost of patience."

Martín admitted that he initially thought the 25/26 season would be difficult, but saw improvements "in a short time": "It was the longest pre-season preparation in the history of "Haris", and it went well. I saw significant progress. The experience of some players is key, and I see that even young players already have experience playing in finals. The synergy can be very positive. It is important to start the season well, to score points in Socuéllamos, on one of the most difficult courts in the League. The beginning will determine our future, but everything will be decided in December."

"With a new wave, we will try to leave our mark in the Iberdrola League," said Martín. "My personal goal is to get into the top eight. I hope that the team will play together, and we will avoid injuries, as it was last season. I hope we can grow as a team and strive for the top four. We will probably see the most difficult and even League in recent years this year."

The team captain will be Yésica Soto. Although the Colombian has only been with the club for a year, she has already become a leader on the court and in the locker room: "My age and experience force me to behave in a certain way. I understand this, accept it, and I think I am doing well in this role."

Soto extended her contract to help the team progress: "Last year I was a newcomer to the League, and I was hardly known, this year will be different. I will continue to work hard to always give my best for the team." She is happy to work with Orduna, whom she has known for 17 years: "Guillermo has a lot of experience. When we found out that we would be working together, I was very happy. Volleyball is always the same, but coaches have different views and styles. The path is one."

The 25/26 season for "Libby's" will begin this weekend with a home match against league newcomer Feel Alcobendas. This will be the first step on a difficult path, but "Haris" meets it with ten years of experience playing at the highest level.
