Tenerife Launches Third Edition of 'Youth in Action' Program with €370,000 Budget
The Cabildo de Tenerife has launched the third edition of its "Tenerife Joven en Acción" program, offering 370,000 euros in grants to support youth-focused activities across all 31 municipalities.
The Cabildo de Tenerife has launched the third edition of its "Tenerife Joven en Acción" (Tenerife Youth in Action) program, continuing its push to decentralize youth policy across the island. The local government has opened the application process for all 31 municipalities to compete for a total budget of 370,000 euros—a figure that highlights the steady increase in youth investment over recent years.
Managed by the Youth and Training department, these grants provide local councils with the funding needed to run activities for residents aged 12 to 30. The program aims to reach over 5,000 young people, encouraging them to take a more active role in their communities.
Councilor Serafín Mesa explained that this strategy is designed to fix the lack of island-wide support that existed until recently. The goal is to create a consistent range of leisure and training opportunities across the entire island, ensuring that a young person’s location does not limit their access to these resources.
Building on the success of the previous cycle, which saw 36 projects carried out in 27 different locations, this new phase offers long-term stability. Municipalities have one month to submit their applications via the Cabildo’s online office. Once awarded, the funding will support activities running from May 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027.
