Tenerife is launching a new direct bus service, line 464, on September 7 to improve transit efficiency between Icod de los Vinos and Costa Adeje amid rising passenger demand.

Tenerife is launching a new bus service, line 464, to better connect Icod de los Vinos and Costa Adeje. The island’s government, the Cabildo, introduced the route to manage rising demand, as passenger numbers on this north-south corridor have grown by 4% this year.

Starting September 7, the new line will complement the existing 460 service. While the 460 makes numerous stops along the way, the 464 is designed for speed. It will travel via the TF-82 road to Santiago del Teide before joining the TF-1 motorway directly to the Costa Adeje station. The service will run every two hours, seven days a week, adding 500 seats per day to the Titsa network.

Island President Rosa Dávila stated that this initiative is part of a broader expansion plan, which has increased total annual transport capacity to 160 million seats. This effort supports the island’s goal of reducing carbon emissions and decreasing reliance on private cars. Eulalia García, head of the Department of Mobility, noted that the direct route is specifically intended to help commuters travel between the two areas more efficiently.

This launch follows a period of significant growth for Titsa. Over the past three years, the company has added 800 daily trips and 351 new vehicles to its fleet. These improvements have helped the company reduce its CO2 emissions by more than 7.6%. Passengers can find schedules, stop locations, and further details on the official Titsa website or by calling their customer service line.
