Tenerife’s Island Council has launched "Young Summer 2026," a free, lottery-based camp program for children aged 10 to 11 designed to support families with childcare during the summer holidays.

Tenerife’s Youth Department is launching "Young Summer 2026," a free program designed to help families balance work and childcare during the summer holidays. Fully funded by the Island Council, the initiative offers children a chance to enjoy leisure activities in a natural setting at the La Esperanza Camp in El Rosario.

This year, the program has expanded its age range to include 10 and 11-year-olds for the first time. Each session lasts eight days and seven nights, with all costs—including transportation, meals, specialized staff, and insurance—covered by the council.

The Island Council has set aside 95,000 euros to fund 90 spots. Because demand is expected to be high, participants will be chosen through a public lottery to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.

To apply, legal guardians must meet the council’s requirements and submit their registration via the electronic office by June 3, 2026. This program aims to support families during the school break by providing high-quality, accessible activities that remove the financial barriers often associated with private summer camps.
