The Tenerife Island Council will launch Delirium Teatro: 40 Years of Raving, a new book celebrating four decades of the acclaimed theatre company, this Sunday at the Auditorio de Tenerife with a free event featuring discussions and music.

This Sunday, the Tenerife Island Council is launching a new book, Delirium Teatro: 40 Years of Raving. The book celebrates four decades of the Tenerife-based theatre company, Delirium Teatro. The launch event will be held at 12:00 PM in La Salita at the Auditorio de Tenerife. It will include a discussion about the book and its contents, along with musical performances. Entry is free until all seats are taken.

This book launch is part of the "40 Delirios" project, organized by the Auditorio de Tenerife to celebrate the Canarian company's 40th anniversary. The project has already featured various events, including talks, a dramatized reading, a special exhibition, and the debut of the play Libros cruzados by La Palma playwright Antonio Tabares, which is currently touring.

The event for Delirium Teatro: 40 Years of Raving will start with piano music by Julio Tejera. Afterwards, there will be a discussion panel. Speakers will include Severiano García and Soraya González del Rosario, who are founding members of Delirium Teatro; Conchita Piña, an editor from Ediciones Antígona; and Raquel Toste, the journalist involved in the project.

The event will close with more music, as Julio Tejera returns to the piano, this time joined by singer Silvia Criado.

The book, Delirium Teatro: 40 Years of Raving, looks back at four decades of the company's artistic journey. It's filled with reviews, thoughts, and humorous stories. Readers will get an inside look at Delirium Teatro's creative process, the challenges they faced, and the discoveries they made. The book explores how each production was built, the risks taken in performances, and the artistic choices that brought their theatre to life.

Many of Delirium Teatro's productions have won national and international awards. Their shows have toured not only within the Canary Islands but also to exhibitions, fairs, and festivals in countries like Portugal, Cuba, Cape Verde, Argentina, Colombia, Tunisia, and Venezuela. They have also performed in various regions of Spain, including Madrid, Andalusia, the Basque Country, Galicia, and Asturias.
