Tenerife Launches €450,000 Resurfacing Project on TF-2 Highway
The Tenerife Island Council has launched a 450,000-euro, three-week resurfacing project on the TF-2 highway in La Laguna to improve road safety and driving conditions.
The Tenerife Island Council has begun major roadwork on the TF-2, one of the island’s busiest routes. A budget of 450,000 euros has been allocated to resurface service roads in La Laguna, with the project expected to take about three weeks to complete.
Managed by the Highways Department, this work aims to improve road safety and driving comfort on a route that handles a high volume of daily traffic. To reduce disruption for residents and commuters in Los Andenes, San Bartolomé de Geneto, and Las Chumberas, the project will be carried out in two phases.
Work will take place only during the day, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Dámaso Arteaga, the island’s Councilor for Highways, explained that this schedule is designed to balance the use of heavy machinery with the need to keep traffic moving.
Temporary signs and detours will be in place to keep both workers and drivers safe. The Highway Service is urging motorists to drive carefully, follow all traffic instructions, and pay close attention to signs in the area. This project is part of routine maintenance designed to prevent asphalt damage on the island's most heavily used roads.
