Tenerife Launches 23rd ‘November, Month of Wine’ Amid Production Recovery
The 23rd edition of "November, Month of Wine" is underway in Tenerife, celebrating local viticulture through a month-long program of cultural events and tastings following a significant 60% increase in production.
The 23rd edition of "November, Month of Wine" is underway, highlighting how wine culture can drive local economic and social growth. Organized by the Tacoronte-Acentejo Regulatory Council and the La Laguna City Council, the initiative has become a vital event for Tenerife’s agricultural sector. With a municipal investment of 60,000 euros, this partnership aims to promote local products while strengthening the connection between the community and its rural roots.
The outlook for this year’s event is bright. After a period of drought that significantly impacted yields, the current season has seen a 60% increase in production compared to last year. This recovery offers the twelve participating wineries—including Presas Ocampo, Marba, Cráter, and Bodegas Insulares Tenerife—greater commercial stability as they look toward 2027.
The month-long program offers much more than just wine tastings, blending wine with art and culture. It kicks off on November 4 at the University of La Laguna’s La Capilla hall with the "La Vinal" exhibition. Other highlights include sensory analysis workshops at the Vinoteca La Laguna Gran Hotel, chess tournaments at the Casino, an operatic screening of Carmen on November 10, and a talk on the link between music and wine at Casa Anchieta on November 15.
Comics will also feature in the program with the "Between Vines and Vignettes" event on November 19 and 20, featuring author Teresa Valero. The festivities conclude on November 26 near Plaza de La Concepción with the "Night in Red," which will showcase the 2026 harvest alongside a sustainable fashion show by designer José Javier González.
Supported by the Government of the Canary Islands and various cultural groups, the event also includes special menus at twenty local restaurants. For a full schedule of times and locations, please visit the official Denomination of Origin website.
