Tenerife has upgraded the Santa Cruz-Ofra Sports Complex, investing over 193,000 euros to modernize the facility. Managed by the public entity Ideco, the project ensures the safety and long-term viability of the site, which serves more than 600 users every month.
The renovation focused primarily on the complex’s racquet sports facilities. The four tennis courts received new bases and perimeter fencing, with similar improvements made to the pickleball area. Additionally, seven padel courts—covering 1,400 square meters—were completely refurbished with new porous bases and synthetic turf. While five of these courts are already open to the public, the final two are currently being finished, alongside improvements to athlete access points.
Spanning 14,000 square meters, the complex is a key hub for physical activity in Tenerife’s capital. Beyond racquet sports, the center offers over 220 activities per week, including fitness classes, indoor and hydrotherapy pools, and athletics training. With added features like digital health tracking and free parking, these upgrades reflect a commitment to maintaining high standards for the community’s health and leisure.
