Tenerife International Fashion Week 2026 Highlights Growth in Men’s Grooming Industry
The 2026 Tenerife International Fashion Week concluded with the Tenerife Barber Expo, highlighting the island's growing influence in professional grooming and its commitment to fostering young talent through industry-led training.
The recent Tenerife International Fashion Week (SIMTE) 2026 has highlighted a major shift in the Canary Islands' men’s grooming industry. By featuring the Tenerife Barber Expo as its grand finale, the event turned the Trade Fair Center (Recinto Ferial) into a key hub for professional growth and local economic development.
With over 600 attendees, the event underscored a strong commitment to connecting technical training with real-world job opportunities. Efraín Medina, head of the Island Council’s Employment and Education department, noted that these gatherings help nurture young talent by allowing them to learn directly from industry leaders. The event featured high-profile experts from Miami and top national names—including Oche Barber, Ismael de Mora, Kingillettes, Fran Aranda, Lolo Rodríguez, and Pau Puertas—elevating the standard of professional barbering.
The event also served as a benchmark for industry competitiveness. The "Pro-Barbers Battle," which saw nearly 30 experts compete in the "Caja Negra," tested the precision and skill currently required by the market. Held from June 4th to 7th, the program successfully blended high fashion with urban trends.
SIMTE 2026 began with the 15th International Young Designers Tenerife Moda Contest, where Yeremay Hidalgo took home the top prize. By combining traditional runway shows with technical barbering exhibitions, the event has solidified Tenerife’s reputation as a national leader in both design and personal care.
