Tenerife Hosts Successful 3rd Porsche Classic Air Cooled Event
Tenerife successfully hosted its third Porsche Classic Air Cooled event, bringing together 32 Porsche 911s from 1974 to 2012 and introducing a new "Water Cooled" category.
Tenerife successfully hosted the third Porsche Classic Air Cooled event this Saturday, October 25.
The classic car rally, organized by two Porsche enthusiasts, Isidro Montalban and Francisco Mesa, explored various parts of the island.
The idea for the event began when Isidro and Francisco, both friends and owners of 1998 Porsche 911s, started taking their cars for drives around the island. These friendly outings soon inspired them to organize a larger gathering for "Air Cooled" Porsches – models that, as the name suggests, use air to cool their engines.
For this third event, they introduced a new category: "Water Cooled" models. These Porsches, which use water for cooling, are now also considered classics, specifically up to the 2012 997 model.
The event was a complete success, bringing together 32 Porsche 911s, covering models from 1974 all the way to 2012.
Participants gathered early at the Porsche center. It was a great opportunity to admire the diverse models and see how the Porsche 911 had evolved over 38 years.
The scenic route took them to several spots across the island. Their first stop was El Portillo Restaurant in Teide National Park, where they were kindly allowed to park all the vehicles. The day concluded with lunch in Puerto de La Cruz.
