Tenerife Hosts Diverse Cultural Weekend Featuring Music, Film, and Tradition
Tenerife is hosting a diverse array of cultural events this weekend, ranging from film screenings and traditional folk festivals to major music gatherings like the Sunblast Festival.
Tenerife’s cultural scene is more diverse than ever this weekend, reflecting a growing trend of blending cinema, local traditions, and major music festivals. Through a mix of public and private partnerships, the island is hosting a wide range of events across various towns to keep the community active and engaged.
For film lovers, the Tenerife Arts Space (TEA) is screening Las corrientes, directed by Milagros Mumenthaler, this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The film, which features a standout performance by Isabel Aimé Gonzalez-Sola, was previously recognized at the San Sebastián Festival and will be shown in its original language.
Live music is also taking center stage across the island. Candelaria kicks off its patron saint festivities with a performance by Café Quijano on Saturday at 9:30 p.m., followed by Los Cantadores and Falete on Sunday at the same time, both held near City Hall. Meanwhile, Costa Adeje is hosting the Sunblast Festival, a massive event featuring over 45 artists across seven stages, covering electronic, techno, and urban music. Additionally, Los Silos will hold its "White Night" this Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, offering a mix of shopping, food, and activities for children.
Traditional culture remains a key part of the weekend. Tejina continues its celebrations for Saint Bartholomew with the 38th "Bestiatlón" on Saturday at 10:00 a.m., followed by the 5th "Agrupación Chisaje" Folk Festival at 10:00 p.m. In Los Realejos, Icod el Alto will host the 20th Diego Pérez Traditional Harvesting gathering this Sunday at Finca de Las Cuchillas. Starting at 11:00 a.m., the event will feature local groups and senior citizens' associations. This will be preceded by the "Cereal Route" at 9:00 a.m., organized by the Rambla de Castro Nature Classroom and the La Senda del Bentor group.
