Primera Federación leaders CD Tenerife host last-placed CD Guadalajara this Saturday, aiming to extend their promotion lead while the visitors fight relegation.

This matchday sees the league leaders take on the last-placed team in Group 1 of the Primera Federación. CD Tenerife will play at home again, at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López, for the second consecutive game. This Saturday, January 31, the Tenerife side welcomes CD Guadalajara, aiming for another victory to comfortably maintain their top spot and further extend their lead over teams in the promotion playoff places for Segunda División.

The 'white-and-blues' (Tenerife) and the 'violets' (Guadalajara) met earlier this season in CD Tenerife's debut match in the Primera Federación. Tenerife performed excellently away at the Pedro Escartín, securing a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Dani Fernández and Nacho Gil.

That victory marked CD Tenerife's first step on their journey back to the 'silver category' (Segunda División). Since then, Álvaro Cervera's team has maintained a very solid run of form, allowing them to consolidate their lead in Group 1 with 50 points.

CD Tenerife is currently 12 points clear of second-placed Celta Fortuna. This difference widens further down the table, reinforcing Tenerife's status as the main candidate for promotion.

Meanwhile, CD Guadalajara arrives at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López at the very bottom of the group, with just 18 points. The 'purple team' had a promising start to the season, even reaching second place. However, that good form slowly faded with each passing matchday, eventually seeing them drop to last.

Juanvi Peinado's side is in a very poor spell, having won only two of their last 17 league matches, and they haven't tasted victory since December 7. This clash in Tenerife presents a key opportunity to gain points and keep their chances of staying in the category alive, despite a demanding visit against the league leaders.

The CD Tenerife vs CD Guadalajara match will be played next Saturday, January 31, at 3:15 PM Canary Islands time (4:15 PM Peninsular Spain time). It's a Matchday 22 fixture in Group 1 of the Primera Federación Versus E-Learning, taking place at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
