The 35th Villa de Adeje International Rally kicks off in Tenerife this weekend, featuring 77 teams competing across twelve demanding stages in a pivotal event for both the Spanish Asphalt Rally Championship and the Canary Islands series.

Spanish motorsport heads to the south of Tenerife this weekend for the 35th edition of the Villa de Adeje International Rally. The event remains a key fixture for both the Spanish Asphalt Rally Championship (CERA) and the Canary Islands regional series, attracting 77 teams, including ten high-performance Rally2 cars.

Following the opening ceremony and technical checks, the competition will unfold over twelve stages on Friday and Saturday. The route—winding through Arona, San Miguel, Vilaflor, and Guía de Isora—is known for being technically demanding. Success will likely depend on tire management and suspension setup, particularly given the area's notoriously unpredictable weather.

In the regional standings, all eyes are on reigning champions Enrique Cruz and Yeray Mujica. The DISA Copi Sport duo are the favorites, having won this rally three times in a row. However, they face stiff competition from current series leader Alexey Lukyanuk, who is eager to secure his first win here in his Skoda Fabia RS. Yeray Lemes and co-driver Aitor Cambeiro are also in the mix, hoping to use their experience to challenge the leaders.

On the national front, following the season opener in La Llana, Surhayen Pernía and Patricia Saiz lead the entry list. They are joined by seasoned competitors like Alberto Ordóñez and Miguel Ángel Fuster, highlighting the rally's importance on the national calendar. With Manuel Mesa competing and Jan Cerny making a return, the event promises a high level of technical intensity, serving as a crucial test for teams as they look to define their season goals.
