Tenerife Hosts 30th Cadena Dial Awards with Focus on Canarian Culture

The 30th edition of the Cadena Dial Awards is returning to Tenerife, evolving from a standard awards show into a broader cultural celebration. Taking place this Thursday, March 12, at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Trade Fair Center, the event aims to highlight Canarian identity alongside its musical programming.

The main gala kicks off at 9:00 p.m., following a green carpet pre-show starting at 7:00 p.m. This year’s lineup features a mix of music icons and rising stars. Established artists like Laura Pausini, Pablo Alborán, Sergio Dalma, Amaral, Café Quijano, Marta Sánchez, Carlos Vives, and Luis Fonsi will be joined by newer talents, including Pablo López, Nil Moliner, Funambulista, Antoñito Molina, Depol, Antonio José, Merche, Kany García, and Ezio Oliva. Leire Martínez will return as the event’s host for the second year in a row while also receiving an award for her solo work.

In addition to the main ceremony, organizers have planned several exclusive events. Kany García and Pablo López will perform for small, select groups of listeners. On Wednesday, March 11, the University of La Laguna will host a discussion on the global impact of Spanish-language music, featuring a presentation by Dr. Lourdes Moreno Cazalla on the growth of the industry in the U.S. and Spanish markets.

This year’s awards also honor the long-term contributions of Mónica Naranjo, Ana Torroja, Luz Casal, and Antonio Carmona. The official announcement was attended by representatives from the Tenerife Island Council and PRISA Media.

A key focus of this edition is supporting local talent. The Tenerife-based group Nueva Línea, known for their popular covers, will perform as part of the show. Organizers state that integrating local artists and cultural traditions is a strategic move to ensure the awards serve as a platform for island identity, marking a significant milestone in the event's history.
