Tenerife Football Federation Unveils Major Digital and €800k Investment Plan
The Tenerife Inter-island Football Federation has launched a record €800,000 strategic plan and a new digital portal, marking its biggest overhaul in over a century to revolutionize island football and support its members.
The Tenerife Inter-island Football Federation (FIFT) is making big changes for the future of football on the island. They've launched two major initiatives: a new digital system called the Federated Portal and a strategic plan for financial aid and grants. This plan will invest a record 800,000 euros in the 2025/26 season.
These projects mark the biggest overhaul for FIFT in over a century, putting Tenerife football at the forefront of sports management in Spain. The Federated Portal is an online system that makes it much easier to process licenses and for the federation to communicate with its members. FIFT President Alejandro Morales Mansito explained, "This platform lets members manage their registration online, making the process quicker, faster, and easier to access." Any money made from this system will go straight back to the members.
For the first time ever, FIFT is introducing a comprehensive plan with financial help, grants, and special benefits for clubs, players, coaches, and referees. Morales Mansito called it "the largest financial investment the organization has ever made, using its own funds." This is on top of a 27% increase in income from TV rights, which now totals 240,000 euros.
The new approach focuses on developing youth football and growing women's football. Key measures include covering 100% of referee costs for youth teams and "Legends Leagues," completely waiving license and insurance fees for women's youth teams, and providing free official balls to all clubs. Prize money in competitions is also going up: both the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Cup and the María José Pérez Cup will award 21,600 euros. For the first time, futsal will also receive specific funding, with up to 7,000 euros for the Tenerife Futsal Supercup.
FIFT is also introducing the FIFT Discount Club, a digital platform offering special deals from over 400 companies. Members can earn credit to use for future seasons or federation fees. Coaches will get liability insurance, free entry to matches, and a training grant program that will cover the cost of official courses. Referees will see their fees increase in several categories without extra cost to clubs. Unemployed or student referees will also get bonuses on their registration, encouraging more people to join and stay in the profession.
The plan also includes new administrative and legal support services, a marketing department to attract benefits and sponsorships, and improved sports broadcasts on FIFT's YouTube channel to give island football more exposure.
