Bocaditos Chafira, a popular food stand in Tenerife’s Oroteanda Baja, has become a local sensation by serving massive, high-quality sandwiches like the towering "Frankenstein."

A food stand in southern Tenerife is redefining street food by proving that bigger really can be better. Located at plot 211 on Calle Nuestra Señora de Candelaria in Oroteanda Baja, Bocaditos Chafira has become a local sensation, earning an impressive 4.9-star rating on Google.

The stand is famous for its massive portions. Its most talked-about creation is the "Frankenstein"—a towering sandwich packed with pork, beef, loin, bacon, egg, and onion. It is so large and complex that local food influencers have noted it is nearly impossible for one person to finish alone. Other popular menu items include the "mixto" (beef, pork, cheese, tomato, and red onion) and rotating specials like roast pork leg sandwiches and choripán.

The business is consistently busy, often preparing between 160 and 170 sandwiches a day. To keep up with this demand, they are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (closed on Sundays).

Bocaditos Chafira is a prime example of a growing trend in the Canary Islands: the professionalization of casual dining. By focusing on generous portions and high-quality ingredients, they have turned a simple food stand into a destination for locals. With prices starting at 7.50 euros, the combination of value and sheer volume has made this industrial park spot a must-visit for those looking for a serious meal.
