The Tenerife Fine Arts Circle unveiled Cristina Maya's "The Circle" as the second art display in "The Window. Intervened Space" series this Thursday at their headquarters, celebrating the institution's 100th anniversary.

This Thursday, the Tenerife Fine Arts Circle unveiled its second art display in 'The Window. Intervened Space' series. The event took place at their headquarters on Castillo Street in Tenerife's capital. Artist Cristina Maya, art curator Octavio Zaya, and the president of the arts organization, Pepe Valladares, were among those who attended the opening.

Cristina Maya's artwork, titled 'The Circle,' will be on show for one month. This exhibition series is part of the institution's 100th-anniversary celebrations. Before Maya, the acclaimed visual artist Fernando Álamo, a Canarias Award winner, launched the series in the same spot with his installation 'Domínguez Garden.'

Cristina Maya is an architect who graduated from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. She also trained in performing arts like dance, theater, and mime, studying movement at the Jacques Lecoq School in Paris. Maya is a member of the 'Is this the city?' group, which discusses walking. Her work, presented in various forms, often critiques the dominant ideas in modern art and architecture.

Maya has international experience teaching, completing art residencies, and working on research projects. She has had solo shows, including 'Jenga,' 'Especular con elsuelo,' 'Ciudad Favorita,' and 'Vida pública,' and has taken part in many group exhibitions. Alongside her visual art, she writes for magazines, local newspapers, art catalogs, and books. She is currently working on her PhD.
